Summer' Light is a collection of paintings expressing the light and warmth reminiscent of summer days. The Show includes paintings from the Harvest or Garden collections. Often in our busy day to day lives we lose touch with the beauty of the created world we live in. These paintings will give you a moment to pause, smell the roses and enjoy the rich beauty of life that we often drive by on our way to somewhere else. Enjoy the two main collections: The Garden Collection combines fragrant lavender and rose gardens. The Harvest Collection picture the wheat and vegetable harvest, set at the Hanley Historic Farm, just outside of Jacksonville, Oregon. There are a few contemplative poses as well. The show runs from September 2-25 at Art and Soul Gallery in Ashland, Oregon. Join us for a reception with fun, food and live music Friday September 2 from 5:00-8:00.

We had a great time at the Masterpiece Christian Artist Conference. Here are a few highlights below. Michael Dudash offered a special one day workshop with 12 students the day before the Conference started. My daughter Charity and I decided to go. Since we were on a ranch, our models were dressed in western attire. We painted Dustin, son of Karen Cain Smith. Here you see Michael painting. The next day we painted outside in the shade of an 1800's shed. Karen's daughter Keira posed on an antique buggy, with vintage look clothes, cowboy boots and hat, and a big bouquet of sunflowers. After lunch, we came back and the whole scene was in the sun, so we moved to a grove huge pines and painted another pose. Great fun... painting and friends, in beautiful place; what could be better? Here is a painting I did of Keira at home from a reference photo took that afternoon. Here it is!
